Established by Mrs. Kitty Stone, wife of former JSU President Ernest Stone, to honor the memory of another JSU first lady, Martha Bellinger Graves of Gadsden, Alabama. Ms. Graves married Dr. Houston Cole in 1952. She served as a gracious hostess and contributed to the social life of Jacksonville and the JSU campus. Mrs. Martha Cole was the first President's wife to reside in the "President's Mansion," where she lived for 19 years until her husband retired in 1971. The scholarship will benefit deserving students.

This memorial scholarship celebrates the life and missed potential of Adam Kyle Ginther. He passed away on January 6, 2015, at the age of sixteen.
Adam attended Catholic schools his whole life and was a sophomore at Holy Family High School in Broomfield when he died. Adam actively participated in 4-H from the age of five, working on a variety of 4-H projects including lambs, goats, shooting sports, and market steers. He always said the Adams County Fair was the best week of every year, because he showed his livestock and hung out with friends all day every day. In 2013, Adam participated in the Catch-A-Calf program at the National Western Stock Show and was thrilled to show this steer at the 2014 Stock Show.
Adam dreamed of becoming a farmer his whole life. He loved working on the corn harvest at the family farm in Brush every fall and going to Pioneer Field Day. Since he was a little boy, he dreamed of studying agriculture at Northeastern Junior College. Adam's most recent pride and joy was his Dodge Ram pickup truck. He named it the "Time Machine." He often took long drives on dirt roads as far as Last Chance, Colorado. While on these drives, he took wonderful pictures of wheat fields and old abandoned barns. However, Adam's most iconic activity in his truck was "rolling coal" at whatever time seemed necessary. Adam played the guitar and loved country music, which he listened to on his drives. He also loved riding his dirt bike on the trails by his house, at the IMI racing center, and at the Keenesburg track.
Adam was a talented artist. He mostly drew trucks and farm equipment and recently drew a picture of Elvis for his best friend. He was good with his hands and tools and built many a contraption in the shop, most with wheels.
Adam was a gentle soul, kind to all and friend to many. His quiet confidence, simple style and humble manner made him easy to be around. Our sorrow was immense when he died. This scholarship and its benefit to agricultural students will help keep this beautiful young man alive in our hearts.

The recipients of this scholarship shall be students in good standing enrolled in the College of Human Ecology at KSU. Preference shall be given to sophomore students should they apply. The recipient(s) of this scholarship will be an undergraduate student(s) properly enrolled in the College of Human Ecology at Kansas State University with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, based on a 4.0 scale. Established in 2007, the Carroll S. and Velma M. Hockman Endowed Scholarship will be awarded annually to full- and/or part-time LFCC students who reside in the College's service region. The College's service region includes the counties of Clarke, Fauquier, Frederick, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah and Warren and the city of Winchester.
The scholarship award may be applied toward tuition, fees and/or books and will be divided equally between the fall and spring semesters. Satisfactory academic progress (minimum grade point average of 2.0) must be maintained in order for the recipient to receive the award for the spring semester.

College of Human Ecology Polly and Merle Leadership Scholarship
The recipient of this Leadership Scholarship will be an incoming undergraduate student properly enrolled in the College of Human Ecology at Kansas State University. The recipient must have scored a minimum of 26 on the ACT and have a 3.8 or higher cumulative grade point average. The recipient must also have demonstrated strong leadership in school and/or the community. The Leadership Scholarship will be renewable provided the recipient maintains a cumulative grade point average as determined by the University Scholarship Committee (currently 3.5). Each recipient may receive the scholarship for a maximum of four years. If the original recipient fails to meet the eligibility requirements for renewal, the remaining years of funding must be awarded only to a student who is eligible within the Leadership Scholarship eligibility guidelines.

The amount of this scholarship will be $10,000 annually. The recipient(s) of this Bluemont Scholarship will be an incoming undergraduate student(s) properly enrolled in the College of Human Ecology at Kansas State University who is a National Merit finalist/semifinalist from Kansas or a National Achievement (Black) or National Hispanic scholarship finalist/semi-finalist or scored a minimum of 32 on the ACT or has a 3.8 or higher high school GPA or ranks in the top 10 percent of their high school graduating class. The Bluemont Scholarship will be renewable provided the recipient maintains a cumulative grade point average as determined by the University Scholarship Committee (currently 3.5). Kirkwood's Respiratory Therapist Program (RT) was established in 1972 through the joint efforts of Dr. John Kasik and the faculty and administration of Kirkwood. Dr. Kasik was the Medical Director of the program for many years and made a huge impact on its success.

Dr. Mick Scholarship in Aging Research
The recipient of this scholarship will be a graduate student properly enrolled in any curriculum at Kansas State University and engaged in research on aging. The scholarship will be one (1) scholarship annually. The student applicant must have a written description of the research project not to exceed 2 pages in addition to a letter of support from a faculty member at Kansas State University who agrees to mentor the student and oversee the research. The student must also provide a resume and letter of application that includes the following components: 1) a summary of past academic work and volunteer work related to aging, 2) an outline of the applicants future plans in the field of aging and 3) a description of how the scholarship will assist the applicant in making progress toward those goals.

This scholarship was created by Dr. Rebecca Leas (former coach) and Milissa (Steiner) Bauer '84, a former Clarion swimmer and Clarion University graduate. Dr. Leas was the head women's swimming coach from 1979-1987, leading Clarion to six Division II national team titles and a second and a third place finish. Her teams were undefeated in PSAC dual meets and won every PSAC championship for eight straight years. Clarion defeated many D-1 schools and also competed at the Division I national championships 1982-86 and the 1984 United States Olympic Trials. During Dr. Lea's tenure, the women also excelled in the classroom. This scholarship is awarded to a woman who demonstrates this continued spirit of excellence both in the water and in the classroom. This scholarship is awarded an undergraduate who meets NCAA Div II regulations and must maintain at least a 2.8 QPA while swimming at Clarion University.

Helen Dingman awards recognize students (or groups of up to five students) whose achievements or accomplishments reflect the effective synthesis of any two of these three components of a Berea College education: learning, labor, and service.
